Wandsworth SEND Consultation
Wandsworth Council is carrying out a consultation about the educational provision that it makes for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Wandsworth Council would like to hear your views on the best way to make educational provision for children and young people with SEND in the future.
Specific areas that are under consideration include:
- What changes are needed to enable more children and young people with SEND to be included in mainstream schools, and is there good practice that can be shared?
- Is further specialist provision needed and for which needs? How can more school places be offered locally?
- How can we develop an offer locally that gives more opportunities for young people with more complex disabilities to develop the skills needed for adult life, including employment skills?
- How should early years services develop to promote early intervention and ensure children with SEND can access the early education and childcare offer?
What happens next?
Views are invited from children and young people, parents / carers, schools, colleges and services.
Response forms for children and young people and parents / carers are available to download below.
The consultation will close on 8th December 2017 and will be reported to Councillors during the spring term 2018.
